Lab-Created Diamonds
A lab-created diamond is a diamond grown in a controlled environment instead of in the earth. Chemically it is still crystalline carbon. Avaiya Gems sells lab-grown stones when that origin is the one listed on the product. We do not relabel a lab-grown diamond as mined.
How they are grown
Two common methods are HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) and CVD (chemical vapour deposition). Both can produce gem-quality crystals. We do not require you to choose a method unless that detail is on the listing. If the product page is silent, we do not invent a growth method.
How they are graded
Lab-grown diamonds use the same 4Cs as natural diamonds: cut, colour, clarity, and carat. Read those fields the same way. A laboratory report, when we have one, should state that the diamond is laboratory-grown.
How they differ from mined diamonds
- Origin — grown in a lab, not formed in the mantle over geological time.
- Price — a lab-grown stone of similar 4Cs is often less expensive than a mined stone. That is a market fact, not a claim that one is “better”.
- Traceability — growth records and laser inscriptions vary by stone. We show what is on file.
They are not moissanite, cubic zirconia, or glass. Those are different materials. If a Avaiya Gems ring uses moissanite, the title and product type say so.
