Diamond Ring Care Through a Canadian Winter

Canadian winter is hard on jewellery for ordinary reasons: road salt, knit cuffs, and indoor heating that dries skin and lets rings spin. None of that is a flaw in the diamond. It is wear.

Dry hands shrink. A ring that was snug in August can spin in January. Do not size down from a swollen summer measurement, and do not panic-size up from one cold morning. Measure on a typical indoor evening.

White gold’s rhodium layer dulls faster if you wear gloves on and off all day. That is plating, not the gold vanishing. We will not sell a “lifetime white” story. Platinum and yellow gold hide that particular complaint.
